Taylors Bulbs Tulip 'Ice Cream' 5

A wonderfully unusual double tulip that lives up to its name: strawberry-pink and green outer petals form a cup around a mass of white inner petals, giving each bloom the look of a scoop of ice cream. Compact at around 25cm tall, it's a real talking point in beds, borders, and containers, flowering in April and May. Plant bulbs from August onwards in well-drained soil, in a sunny position — the flowers will last longer with a little afternoon shade.
