Paeonia Lactiflora 'Inspectour Lavergne' 2Ltr

A classic French peony, bred in 1924 and still prized for its richly fragrant, fully double blooms in deep pinky-red. The large, globe-shaped flowers sit on sturdy, upright stems, making this a superb cut flower — a single bloom can fill a room with scent, and the flowers last well in water.

A clump-forming herbaceous perennial reaching 0.5–1m in height and spread, it dies back in winter and returns reliably each spring, rarely needing staking once established. Plant in full sun or partial shade in fertile, moist but well-drained soil, and avoid disturbing the crown once settled — peonies resent being moved. Foliage can be a mild skin irritant to pets, so position with that in mind. Supplied in a 2 litre pot. Each plant is hand-selected before dispatch. Available from Pengelly Garden Centre.
