Paeonia lactiflora 'Bowl of Beauty' 2ltr

A striking Japanese-type peony, quite unlike the classic double blooms — 'Bowl of Beauty' produces large, anemone-shaped flowers with a single outer ring of rich rose-pink petals surrounding a dense, contrasting centre of creamy-white to soft yellow petaloids. Fragrant and borne on strong stems, the blooms create a real talking point in the border. An RHS Award of Garden Merit winner, and rightly so.

This is one of the most floriferous peonies around, with plenty of side buds extending the flowering display, and its sturdy stems mean staking is rarely needed. Blooming in late spring to early summer, it's equally happy in a large border or a generous container, and makes a lovely, unusual cut flower. Reliable and long-lived once established, and attractive to bees and other pollinators.
