Carex oshimensis 'Everlime'

An Irish-bred variety from the EverColor series, Carex oshimensis 'Everlime' forms a dense, tufted mound of long, narrow, arching evergreen leaves in a subtle, green-on-green variegation, with lime-green margins framing a deeper green centre. Inconspicuous brown flower spikes appear within the foliage during spring and summer, but it's the neat, cascading foliage that provides the main year-round appeal.

Reaching around 20–45cm in height with a spread of up to 45–50cm, 'Everlime' is easy to grow and versatile, suiting beds, borders, and containers, where its arching habit works well as an anchoring, textural presence among mixed planting. It tolerates some exposure and grows in full sun or partial shade, thriving best in fertile, moist but well-drained soil. Low maintenance, it tolerates drier soils with occasional watering; simply tease out or snip away any dead or wind-burnt leaf tips in spring.
