Taylors Bulbs Narcissus 'Yellow Ocean' (8)
A vibrant, multi-headed daffodil, Narcissus 'Yellow Ocean' produces up to five sweetly scented, star-shaped blooms per stem in bright canary yellow, each with a slightly reflexed perianth and a matching yellow cup. Reaching around 35cm and multiplying readily over time, it's superb for informal groups, rock gardens, containers or naturalising in drifts, where it lives up to its name with a real "ocean" of colour.
Plant the bulbs from August onwards in well-drained but moist, humus-rich soil, in sun or partial shade, avoiding very dry spots such as under conifers. 'Yellow Ocean' flowers in April and, once established, will naturalise happily in beds, lawns or light woodland. As with all narcissi, the bulbs are harmful if eaten and can irritate skin, so gloves are worth wearing when handling, and deadhead as flowers fade to keep energy going back into the bulb.
Supplied as a pack of 8 top-quality bulbs. Each bulb is hand-selected before dispatch. Available from Pengelly Garden Centre.
