These are wonderfully forgiving bulbs that establish readily in almost any reasonable garden soil, and with a generous 50 in the pack, there's plenty here to scatter freely for a proper naturalised effect — the classic method is to toss the bulbs by hand and plant them where they land, for a look that's never regimented.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp dir=\"ltr\"\u003eTypically reaching 15–25cm depending on variety, this mix is ideally suited to rockeries, the front of borders, drifts through grass, and areas beneath deciduous trees, where the bulbs will flower and multiply happily for years before the trees come into leaf. Leave foliage to die back naturally after flowering (usually by June) rather than cutting or mowing it early, as this is what feeds the bulb for the following season.
