Paeonia edulis 'Superba'
A true heirloom peony and one of the oldest, most beloved varieties in cultivation, dating back to 1824. 'Edulis Superba' produces an abundance of fully double, bright rose-pink blooms with a soft collar of paler petals at the heart, all carried above lush, glossy dark green foliage. Wonderfully fragrant and reliably free-flowering, it's an early-season bloomer — often the first peony to flower in the garden.
Its strong stems and long vase life make it an excellent cut flower, while established plants form a bushy, long-lived clump that asks for very little upkeep once settled in. A classic choice for cottage gardens, borders, or as a specimen plant, and virtually ignored by deer and rabbits.
