Azalea japonica 'Toreador' 10ltr pot
Azalea japonica 'Toreador'
A compact, bushy azalea, 'Toreador' produces rounded clusters of vivid reddish-pink, funnel-shaped flowers in late spring, standing out beautifully against small, glossy, dark green, elliptic to lance-shaped leaves. It's a semi-evergreen shrub that delivers a bold, showy display, with the flowers all but covering the foliage at peak bloom.
Reaching a height and spread of around 1m, 'Toreador' suits mixed borders, city and courtyard gardens, and waterside planting, as well as containers on a patio. It thrives in partial or dappled shade in moist, humus-rich, acidic soil, and should be planted shallowly, as it won't tolerate deep planting. Keep the soil from drying out and protect from strong winter winds. All parts of the plant are harmful if eaten, so gloves are recommended when handling and pruning.
Each plant is hand-selected before dispatch.
